Empaths and highly sensitive people often have sensitivities that set them apart from others. They may be sensitive to certain types of food, like spicy food, or overly sweet foods. They may have a sensitivity to gluten, nuts, dairy or soy, so food is often not a great gift, unless you know they love something in particular.
Anything that is loud, has a strong scent, like perfumes and room scents are not ideal. Clothing options can be tricky too, because if they have itchy fabric, a poorly placed zipper, or a scratchy tag, the clothing won’t be worn.
Some highly sensitive people don’t like clutter either, which makes home decor not a great choice either.
